Battery Law Notes:
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
For used batteries and rechargeable batteries containing lithium, please tape the terminals beforehand to prevent an external short circuit. When disposing of waste electrical equipment containing batteries or rechargeable batteries, these should be removed beforehand, if possible.
Return and Recycling: Old batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. Old batteries can be handed in free of charge at public collection points in the municipality and wherever batteries are sold.
Symbolic Labelling: Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
Further information on the new EU Battery Regulation and related obligations can be found on the website of the European Commission or from the relevant national authorities.
